storage system, we have set up a
power to heat
at Villeroy & Boch ‘s Valence d’Agen plant.
In addition, we are planning to develop power to heat to power, which will enable massive electricity storage involving heat. In particular, we can overcome the intermittent nature of renewable energies and ensure constant electricity production. Excess electricity generated from renewables can be converted and stored as heat. This stored heat can then be directly redistributed as needed.
When the demand for electricity is higher than the production of renewable energies, the stored heat can, just as much, be transformed back into electricity using a turbine or an ORC cycle and be consumed locally or redistributed towards the network.
